I successfully defended my dissertation proposal back in November last year! Titled “Language attitudes and sociophonetic variation in Malaysian English”, my dissertation aims to examine how language attitudes and orientation influence the production and perception of phonological features in Malaysian English. I am grateful for the support of Dr. Jennifer Nycz, Dr. Elizabeth Zsiga, Dr. Rebecca Starr, and Prof. Dr. Stefanie Pillai, who serve as members of my dissertation committee.

I will be in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from March to July 2025 to collect data for my dissertation. You will find me in the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics at Universiti Malaya as a visiting PhD student.
